About Mato Fly Fishing Patagonia

Experience Patagonia Through the Eyes of a Local Guide

Fishing has been part of my life since I was five years old. I started with spinning, and when I was thirteen, my father gave me my first fly rod. That gift changed everything, sparking a lifelong passion for fly fishing and for the wild rivers, lakes, and trout of Patagonia.

I was born in Cipolletti, a city in Northern Patagonia, about 400 kilometers from Bariloche. Patagonia has always been my home, and over the years I've spent countless days exploring its waters, learning how changing seasons, weather, river conditions, and insect hatches influence trout behavior.

Today, that same passion inspires every trip I guide.

Local Knowledge That Makes the Difference

For more than ten years, I've worked as a professional fly fishing guide in Bariloche, helping anglers from around the world experience one of the finest trout fisheries on Earth.

Every trip is carefully planned around current river and lake conditions, seasonal hatches, and your personal fishing goals. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, I choose the destination that offers the best fishing opportunities each day.

Whether we're drifting one of Patagonia's legendary rivers or wading a secluded mountain stream, my goal is simple: to provide an unforgettable day on the water while sharing the spectacular landscapes, wildlife, and fly fishing that make this region so unique.

Professional, Safe & Personalized

At Mato Fly Fishing Patagonia, every trip is private and fully customized.

Whether you're making your very first fly cast or pursuing trophy Brown Trout after years of experience, you'll receive the same dedication, attention to detail, and professional service.

Your safety is always a priority. Every year, we renew our First Aid certifications and maintain all required licenses and professional certifications, ensuring every trip is conducted responsibly and safely.

More Than Catching Fish

The best days on the water are about much more than the number of trout you land.

They're about reading the water, understanding nature, learning new techniques, sharing stories, and enjoying the incredible beauty of Patagonia.

Whether you're chasing wild Rainbow Trout, legendary migratory Brown Trout, or simply looking to spend an unforgettable day surrounded by the Andes Mountains, my goal is to create an experience you'll remember long after your trip has ended.

I Look Forward to Fishing With You
